This is a great (and huge) book. I think it might be over 2 inches thick. It contains so much information - I'm really surprised at the price for such a substantial book. I have it to my sister for her birthday. She is just starting out with gardening and loves it.
I saw this book at the library and checked it out. It was so informative that I went to Amazon and purchased it online. I absolutely love this book.
This is very similar to the Readers Digest version of many years ago, but updated. If you like to work in the outdoors, this is your plant book. I bought two, one's a gift.

This book is a garden lovers dream. Not only does it describe the plants and their requirements in detail, the photography is justgorgeous and the book is broken down into sections that describe what plants to use in Shade, Sun, Wet or Dry areas. It is a musthave for anyone who loves designing gardens. Opening up the book was like letting Spring time in.
