Many Christians, myself included, are intimidated by the numerous sophisticated arguments levied against Christianity by unbelievers. I have found myself reading the rebuttals of Christian scientists and apologists to arm myself against these many technical objections to the Christian faith. The problem is: I forget their main points within a few days! Craig Biehl greatly simplifies the defense of the faith for the believer. This is not to say that it is simplistic. Far from it. His method focuses upon the infinite excellence of who God is as revealed in Scripture compared with our limited understanding of ourselves and the world he has created. When we do that, the fundamental faith assumptions of the unbeliever are shown to be irrational.

I really enjoyed the author’s unique approach to this vitally important subject, and while I did find the book to be more “academic†than other more basic apologetics books I’ve read in the past (certainly not a “fast and easy read†for casual readers) it is nevertheless a powerfully compelling book that offers readers a well-presented, exceptionally thorough, and profoundly logical approach to a defense of the foundations of the Christian faith.
