Bland.. needed this for class and had to REALLY push myself to read this. The information is just spewed out and can make reading this so hard. It’s so dry.

Somewhat dry reading, but considering the subject matter, it would b difficult to make it exciting. Required text for course, coupled with online videos and Webinars, is ok. Very thorough.

Used this book for an Intro to Public Health class. Very helpful in describing all the unique features and inner workings of public health!

This was a really good comprehensive book on Public Health. I have since referred to it again and again for my other classes, to better understand the many of the concepts detailed in this book. I honestly didn't know much about Public Health or the complexity of all the mechanical parts, but after reading this book (almost from cover to cover)I have such a better understanding of how many disciplines work together to address health-related issues. This book is by no means "an easy read", I had my pocket dictionary beside me at all times, but you get the hang of it after a few chapters...my vocabulary certainly improved. I was so fortunate to attend Dr Turnock class and as an intro to Public Health, this textbook could not have been better.

Book came on time, and is a very resourceful tool for my studies.
