My five-year old grandson is obsessed with the Wild Kratts. While he remembers everything he hears on the show and does not hesitate to share his knowledge, reading aloud is a different story. He loves being read to, but he does not want to read to us. I had high hopes that “Wild Kratts Wild Sea Creatures: Sharks, Whales, and Dolphins!†would help break down his resolve not to read aloud.The text of this book is interesting and informative. With the exception of Great White Sharks, each different creature is discussed on two facing pages. The print is large and easy to see; there is not so much text that it overwhelms a child reading the book. The illustrations look much like the animation from the “Wild Kratts†television show.“Wild Kratts Wild Sea Creatures: Sharks, Whales, and Dolphins!†is an excellent book with which to encourage young readers. My grandson has been willing to try reading this book aloud. It features some of his favorite PBS characters; it is short, but not too short; and, Martin and Chris “Activate Creature Powerâ€!
This reader is interesting and educational. It combines fiction because they use their “creature powers†and a lot of non-fiction as it is full of animal facts. It isn’t a story with bad guys like in the show. The book is a collection of information about sea creatures.This is a level 2 reader, but it is an advanced level 2 reader due to content and length. For example, it has advanced words like “ordinary†and “tentaclesâ€. It is 32 pages long and a challenge for a child that can read some of the simpler readers alone. This book can be a read-aloud until the child is ready to read on his or her own.The pictures look exactly like those in the show. The illustrations are clear and help the children make observations and be able to understand the text. Overall, this is an excellent book.
My daughter loves Wild Kratts and loves reading these books. They are educational and an easy read. They aren’t put together very well as the seam does begin to separate rather quickly. But it’s an inexpensive book and I’m sure I can fix it with glue.
This book has some really big words for being a level 2 book. I bought this for a boy who struggles to read and there is no way he could read this on his own, and he is a level 2 in most other books. This book did have nice cartoons in the book
Excellent DVD, both entertaining and educational. Good quality graphics, my grandchildren love watching Wild Kratts because they learn so much and they make learning fun. Would recommend.
My 3-year-old loves watching the Kratts brothers on TV! But when it's time for a calmer activity - like bedtime - she enjoys going through this book with mommy and talking about all the sea creatures in it.
This is an excellent book for a young reader. Not too easy nor to challenging I recommend this book for 5-6 year olds
Face it, its the Wild Kratts brothers on another adventure! You get to learn fun animal facts while you are having fun reading! You cant go wrong with that!A great kids book. My three, have read it over and over again! and Still love it!
